Hey guys, it's Maya. Just wanted to let you know that we won't on the blog for the next few because of scheduling conflicts. In addition due to construction, we will be attempting some simpler recipes/recipes that don't require cooking. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Recipe #6: Wedding Cake

                                                       Recipe #6: Wedding Cake
Description/Critique:
Hey guys! This week we made four-tiered wedding-esque cake. The challenging part was decorating it, especially because we tried our hand at using fondant. As it turns out, we're not awesome at it. The cake itself tasted pretty good but it wasn't as nice looking as we expected it to be. Next time, we're hoping to go back to basic desserts.

Recipe #5: Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie

Recipe #5: Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie
Description/Critique:
This week's dessert was a very simple ice cream pie. The crust was homemade from Oreos and peanuts and the only steps after that were to add Reese's Cups, chocolate ice cream, and freeze the pie. We topped it with whipped cream and leftover cookie crumbles. The pie was good, but it didn't live up to last week's carrot cake. Also, we kinda overcooked the crust a little.Overall, it was good but not fantastic.

Recipe #4: Carrot Bundt Cake

Recipe #4: Carrot Bundt Cake
Description/Critique:
Okay guys, so this week we made a carrot bundt cake. We collectively decided that this was our best cake yet! We put the cream cheese frosting on when the cake was still warm, causing it to melt into almost a glaze. And the best part is, it still tasted great almost a week after making it!  Overall, a great cake!

Recipe #3: Flag Cake

Recipe #3: Flag Cake
Description/Critique:
Happy (belated) 4th of July! In honor of Independence Day, we made a cake shaped like the American flag.  The pound cake was really easy to make and the homemade whipped cream topping was pretty simple too!

Recipe #2: Chocolate Truffle Cake

Recipe #2: Chocolate Truffle Cake
Description/Critique:
Happy Father's Day! In honor of Father's Day, we made a chocolate truffle cake. It was pretty easy and we replaced the traditional "fresh rose" garnish with a decoration more appropriate to the holiday. We decided that we had overcooked the actual cake a little, but the filling was good.

Recipe #1: Chocolate Mousse

Recipe #1: Chocolate Mousse
Description/Critique:
The mousse turned out with a grainy texture and excessive sweetness. Also it was said that, "the chocolate taste wasn't as intense as it should have been" - Angie (Mom)
